get it wrong 03:54
I bet you're thinking, "how'd I get it wrong?" You wanna hang out and well I don't wanna see your face And when we chill it ain't for very long Get your stuff together 'cause I'm leaving town after today Catch me walking round with sandals on I don't give a damn and you can read it all over my face I'm ego-tripping when the lights are on I don't think about you and I know that you would say the same You're making this more than it has to be Thinking about me is not gonna help Clearly it's not that hard to see You've gotta move on and go find yourself Maybe someday you'll somebody who you love and you can Move on from me baby and be happy just with who you are Wish I could see you 'cause it's been so long We haven't talked in weeks I guess we're chilling now I wish that things wouldn't have gone so wrong I know it's not my fault but guess we're gonna play this game You know I got a man so please cool off Just 'cause we're together doesn't mean that I can't be your friend I called three times so just pick up the phone We can work this out because you know I don't want it to end You're making this more than it has to be Thinking about me is not gonna help Clearly it's not that hard to see You've gotta move on and go find yourself Maybe someday you'll find somebody who you love and you can Move on from me baby and be happy just with who you are

He watches her as she combs her hair For so long he has waited, gazing out Every passing moment the thinks of them Unsure of what's yet to come The stucco pattern of her bedroom walls Dances through his mind like a fading shadow How long has it been since the night they met And since he lost his bet with love Here he is, every night thinking of the same thing Caving in like a tidal wave breaking on the ocean floor But it's over he's asking his feelings to let go Surely his broken heart has room for just one more One more He saw her out just the other day As she spoke he began to feel so strange So much was still left undone What more could she really say He should have stopped her when she said that she had to go Why didn't he Emotions are burning inside his chest As he just walks away from love Here he is, every night thinking of the same thing Caving in like a tidal wave breaking on the ocean floor But it's over he's asking his feelings to let go Surely his broken heart has room for just one more One more

Staying out too late Don't make mama wait High Together we'll unwind Fine You can take your time Keep the key inside Lock it in your mind A deep commotion interrupts my mind As the ocean's weight is pressing on all sides I could have sworn they weren't here before The static figures reaching for the door Soon I'll follow Flying so low Breathe It will be alright Lay down By morning you'll be fine Delirious delusions do assault my mind Room's so hot I'm loosing space and time I think there's something, scratching through my door I simply cannot take it anymore Soon I'll follow Flying so low Gotta wait five or six hours for the delta-8 to get out of my head Sunday morning I reckon I'll be waking up rising from my grave Gotta wait five or six hours for the delta-8 to get out of my head Sunday morning I reckon I'll be waking up rising from my grave Gotta wait five or six hours for the delta-8 to get out of my head Sunday morning I reckon I'll be waking up rising from my grave Gotta wait five or six hours for the delta-8 to get out of my head

Gin and Lime 05:26
Tonight You don't know what I know You can't make up your mind Dad is on the back porch Smokin' gin and lime There's jackals in the courtyard Circa 2005 The lads are rolling together We're boarding the trails at nine Wadding through Loral Oaks Dropping off from Terrace Park Messing around, biking downtown When will this movie end I love this but it's killing me The gins really hitting now A family van is westward bound Playing Paul Simon on the radio Won't you be my bodyguard on our trip through these barren plains Driving around, singing along When will this damn trip end I love this but it's killing me The gins really hitting now Tonight You don't know what I know You can't make up your mind Dad is on the back porch Smokin' gin and lime There's jackals in the courtyard Circa 2005 The lads are rolling together We're boarding the trails at nine We've been cruising all night long wasting gas on this sleepless night Driving to the edge of town just talking the night away Nothing to do but sit here with you Tell me I'll be okay I love this but it's killing me This town's really got me down Nothing but sleepless nights in this dull and dreary place Growing older I have seen many faces come and go Before you know we're back on the road Heading into the unknown I love this but it's killing me I think it's time to move on Show me the road home Days of old don't leave me alone Show me the road home Days of old don't leave me alone Show me the road home Days of old don't leave me alone Show me the road home Tonight You don't know what I know The lads are rolling together

about

Welcome to The Squirez. This album acts as an introduction to...us. This album was two years in the making and is our first large project. This band was conceived in late 2019, though it stayed just an idea until early 2020. We started meeting together during the summer, wearing masks and cautiously avoiding close contact for a majority of the year, which made the actual writing and recording process incredibly difficult. Despite this, we kept pushing forwards, writing songs over zoom during the school year and using as many free days as we could to gather in Sioux Falls to continue our work. Weeks turned to months, and months to years as we forged on, spending almost every moment together writing, recording, mixing and mastering these seven songs. Though it might seem like a long time for such a small collection of songs, much of the time was spent learning and growing. This first offering was crafted by a group of lads who are dedicated to this craft, and who are incredibly happy to finally share this with the world. Thank you for your support, and thank you for listening. We hope you enjoy.
